First Edinburgh Rays It was refreshing to breathe soothing cool air after traveling for the better part of an entire day from humid Venice, Italy to Edinburgh, Scotland. This is the first view I had of Scotland once off of a vehicle. The deep blue sky and the sun's warm rays were a welcome reminder that every long travel day culminates in new experiences. Louvre, Pyramid, & Water Sometimes photographers get lucky and other times we work hard to get the shot. This photograph was a combination of the two. I was out shooting with my Nikon when other people were eating dinner and enjoying Paris' nightlife. Hanging around the Louvre at the "right" time was key. I was lucky because virtually all the Parisians and tourists cleared out of the Louvre's courtyard. The resulting image is near absent of people, save for a few shadows and blurry figures in the distance. Diligence put me in the right place to take advantage of my surroundings, and what wonderful surroundings they were. Ago vita vos somnium (live the life you dream)
Tallinn Town Square This photograph of Tallinn, Estonia is representative of the colorful and well preserved nature of Old Town. The entire old quarter looks to be stuck in another century. A castle, churches, red-tiled roofs, belfries, and vibrantly painted structures were all indicative of a time past. When I began planning my trip to Europe I knew "far-off" places were a must and Tallinn's old world atmosphere truly brought that criteria to life. This square is a gathering place for locals and tourists alike. The town hall is on the right and the colorful buildings at left house wonderful open-air cafes. In the morning, vendors fill the cobblestone streets to sell their goods. Ago vita vos somnium (live the life you dream)
