Stairway to Heaven While on a leisurely hike up Ulrikin in Bergen, Norway, I came across this steep stone outcropping. Just after I "snapped" this photograph, by hand-holding a neutral density filter in front of the lens, a family popped up and walked down the face of this stone stairway. A stairway to heaven? I think not, but the hike up Ulrikin was one of the most enjoyable, and scenic, outings I have ever been on. Ago vita vos somnium (live the life you dream)
Schloß Charlottenburg Schloß Charlottenburg is a baroque castle that was built for Queen Sophie Charlotte in 1695 by King Friedrich Wilhelm I, her husband. The castle weathered WWII bombing and has been restored to its full gilded glory. Although some travel websites state that admission to Schloss Charlottenburg is free, please be prepared to spend at least 20 euro per person for admission, including an audio guide. If you are traveling on a tight budget, Schloss Charlottenburg is not worth breaking the bank, but walking around the outside of the castle is worth the trip!
