Skagit Valley: River of Flowers
San Diego's bright sunny days remind me of my trip to Washington State. Seattle and the surrounding areas were inundated with cloud-cover for much of my visit, but my memories are glowing. The Skagit Valley's tulip and flower farms are one reason for my warm memories. A slow pace, peaceful open space, nice people, and thick rows of tulips stretching to the horizon are all reasons visitors to Seattle should venture one hour north on Interstate 5 to Skagit Valley's Tulip Festival.
This photograph was taken just before dark clouds rolled overhead and let loose thick watery droplets onto the river of flowers.
